Gabriel Hodge

Principal Architect AIA NCARB

Driven by the dual nature of design as art and team sport, simultaneously introspective and collaborative, Gabe believes that our most successful buildings, cities, landscapes, and places have the power to foster and nourish human relationships and community, teach us, and inspire creativity. An architecture that brings people together through and by design, allowing them to engage deeply and share ideas is the ideal outcome.

Gabe’s pursuit of architecture springs from the belief that listening to and understanding a project’s unique circumstances, its Genius loci, and the perspectives of its future occupants, will inspire a design that contributes to deep and lasting connections between people and to the spirit of the place. Good buildings require an understanding of the principles of structure, light, and space; extraordinary buildings require an understanding of people.

For more than 25 years Gabe has served in key design roles in a wide variety of building types and sectors including residential (single and multi-family), academic (all levels), cultural, athletics, workplace, retail, and hospitality. Prior to forming Materia Prima Studio, Gabe was a Principal with national practice Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.

Gabe is a Registered Architect in Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

Marissa Fabrizio

Senior Architect AIA

Marissa believes in designing spaces that honor their history as well as their natural surroundings. She champions the philosophy that architecture should be inspired by the site, with each location serving as the foundation for a unique and innovative project.

Marissa also sees preservation as a profound opportunity, enabling buildings and their new additions to embrace their historical roots while also integrating seamlessly with modern needs. This approach reflects a deep respect for context, sustainability, and the narratives embedded within each structure she touches.

Marissa received her Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a Registered Architect. She has over a decade’s worth of experience serving as a project architect on a variety of project types, including single and multi-family residential, academic, and hospitality. Marissa has a particular interest in sustainable and historic preservation. This has led to receiving a certificate in preservation from Cornell Architecture, Art, and Planning. Prior to joining Materia Prima Studio, Marissa was an Associate Architect at Arrowstreet Inc. and an Architectural Designer at Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.

Marissa is a Registered Architect in Massachusetts
